Editor's Note
In 1902 the Armenians of Büyükada sought to establish it under the name "Sahak-Mesrob." The four-storey wooden school building with a garden, completed in 1906 with the addition of the attic floor, opened for instruction that autumn. Formerly located at No. 1 Bahçıvanoğlu Street, the school building is registered, according to a title deed dated 27 September 1341 (1925) held at the Princes' Islands Land Registry, in the name of the Kınalıada Armenian Church. When the Sahak-Mesrob School closed in 1924, its pupils began attending the Nersesyan School on Kınalıada. Among the islander students who graduated from the Sahak-Mesrob School was Dr.
