Editor's Note
This is a Rifa'i dervish lodge. It was first established as a mosque-lodge by Sheikh Süleyman Abai, who came to Istanbul during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim. Later, Sheikh Mehmet Kamil Efendi, who gave the lodge its name, re-established the mosque-lodge as an active sheikhdom in the first quarter of the 19th century.
