Editor's Note
This is a ruin thought to date from the Byzantine period, uncovered in 1980 during the foundation excavations for the construction of the Yapı ve Kredi Bank Kumkapı Branch Building, carried out under the supervision of the Istanbul Archaeology Museums. The remains of a cistern and a vaulted structure found at the site have been preserved in the basement of the building.
