Menemenlizade Konağı

Long ago, on the site of the present building of Kadırga Primary School, there stood two wooden buildings. Known as the 'Menemenlizade Mansion,' these structures were counted among the large buildings of their time. The educational and teaching activities of many schools were carried out from time to time in the Menemenlizade Mansion. Until 1928, the Medical School, the Pharmacy School, the Dental School, Vefa High School, and the Girls' Vocational School held classes in these two buildings. Between 1947 and 1951, the Istanbul Directorate of National Education first had the Provincial Special Administration purchase the Menemenlizade Mansion and then had it demolished. The present-day Kadırga Primary School was built in its place.
