Editor's Note
It was built in 1887 by Sultan Abdülhamid II. The Kağıthane Imperial Stud Farm, where purebred Arabian horses were generally raised, also influenced Ottoman diplomacy, as the fine horses bred there were given as gifts to foreign statesmen. In 1895, the purebred Arabian horses named 'Sürat, Çelik, Metin and Cerid' raised at the Kağıthane stud were presented to the German Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm. Besides the German emperor, certain special horses were also gifted to France and Belgium. The Kağıthane Imperial Stud Farm consisted of three branches.
