Editor's Note

The sheikh of the Bedevi lodge in Kasımpaşa was also one of the descendants of Sayyid Ahmad al-Badawi. Little is known about his life. The lodge was founded in 1226 (1828), and Ali Efendi served as its sheikh until his death in 1255. After Ali Efendi, Şeyh Aziz Mahmut (d. 1263) and then Attar Şeyh Hacı Ali Rıza (d. 1328) held the office of sheikh. www.evliyalar.net
