Editor's Note
This structure, also known as the Himmetzâde Lodge, stood in the Fatih district on the slope descending from Şehremini to Yenibahçe, in the Ördek Kasap neighborhood on Himmetzâde Dergâhı Street. It was founded in the mid-17th century within the mosque of İbrâhim Efendi, one of the treasurers of the reign of Mehmed IV, by Şeyh Himmet Efendi of Bolu (d. 1684), the master (pir) of the Bayramiyye-Himmetiyye order; its endowment deed was drawn up in 1135 (1723) by Himmetzâde Şeyh Abdüssamed Efendi, a grandson of Himmet Efendi and the lodge's third sheikh.
