Editor's Note
It was commissioned by Debbağzade Hüseyin Efendi, steward to the Şeyhülislam. Since the death date of its patron, who is buried in the cemetery, is AH 1131/1718, it is understood that the mosque was built before this date. The mosque, which burned in 1915, had only its walls left and was surrounded by shanty dwellings, until it was restored true to its original form by the mosque association in 1979. In 1984 its minaret was rebuilt on the old base.
