Editor's Note
It was commissioned in 1490 by Seyyid Ömer bin Fahrettin. Seyyid Efendi took part in the conquest of Istanbul. Later, during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II, he served as the palace's barley superintendent. The mosque fell into ruin over time from neglect. Although it was repaired two or three times, the mosque was demolished and rebuilt in the 1950s. Despite this, it was rebuilt once again in reinforced concrete around 1995. The mosque was built within a courtyard. The entrance floor of the mosque is raised above the ground. There is a stone-paved porch reached by 10-12 steps. From here one enters the portico for latecomers.
