Editor's Note
The lodge was established in the late 15th or early 16th century by Emir Ahmed Buhârî, one of the sheikhs of the Nakşî-Ahrarî order. In later years, sheikhs of many orders served as its head. During the First World War, while the Ramadan cannon was being fired in front of the Metris Barracks, the cannon exploded and one of its fragments fell on the mosque, collapsing the roof, which was never rebuilt; the remaining parts of the mosque were completely demolished by the Foundations Administration in 1941, and in 1974 the ring road coming from the Haliç Bridge was routed over its plot.
