Editor's Note
Repair date: AH 1253 / AD 1837. Inscription: For the noble Sultan Mahmud, foremost in holy campaigns, his chief favourite, of angelic beauty and Cevrî-like nature, spent her coin to repair this fountain and gave new life to the pure souls of the saints. Let the thirsty of heart memorise its date like water: it is the Water of Zemzem, the Water of Life, drawn from this new fountain.
