Editor's Note
It takes its name from the epithet of the Halveti-Sunbuli sheikh Merkez Muslihuddin Musa Efendi, whose lodge and tomb are located here and who died in 1551-1552. The adjacent mosque was commissioned by Sah Sultan, daughter of Selim I. With 1,091 stones, it is the cemetery with the most Ottoman-era gravestones outside the city walls. The gravestones here, the oldest dating to 1694-1695, also belong to the 18th-19th centuries and to the middle class.
