Editor's Note
It was built in 1912 in memory of Theodoros Mavrogordatos, with 192 beds (128 for men and 64 for women), on the site of the former old people's and almshouse. (Source: www.baliklirum.com.tr) The building, which was ruined in a fire on 4 August 2022, was renovated and brought back into service.
