Editor's Note
The summer mansion of Count Amedee Alleon, also known as the Stone School (Tas Mektep), was built between 1865 and 1874 together with the Stone Bridge, using bricks the count had brought from Marseille. Although it was built as the summer residence of the Alleon family, who then lived in Pera, it is said that the count preferred to live here year-round. Just as with the Stone Bridge, the architect of this building is unknown. The mansion's furniture of that era was specially ordered from the Darius Patriano and Psalty furniture stores.
