Editor's Note
Built in 1908, the building first served as a French school and student dormitory. In 1926 it was rented by the Bakirkoy educator Bezeyan Bey and began operating as a primary and secondary school, to which a high school section was later added. The Bezeyan school's educational activity, which lasted until 1936, was brought to an end due to financial difficulties. In 1936 the mansion was allocated to the Bakirkoy community house and converted into an arts centre hosting cultural and artistic events.
