Editor's Note
Date of construction: AH 1269 / AD 1852-1853. Its inscription: The engineer Ali Dede was a well-wisher on the path of truth; may God have mercy on his soul, for he gave his life in the Sufi way. The fountain's channel had become utterly ruined, O beloved; this lion, blessed in good works, succeeded in his charity though in a foreign land.
