Editor's Note
It stood in the Baba Haydar quarter, between Nazperver Avenue and Ahmed Çelebi Street. Today only the base of its ashlar-stone minaret and its plot remain. Work began in 1987 to rebuild it and the foundations were uncovered, but the project was later abandoned. Also known as the Dere Mosque, the place of worship was built by Nazperver Hatun, one of the wives of Sultan Murad III (1574-1595). Her date of death and the location of her grave are unknown. The mosque, in very ruined condition in 1940, was demolished by the foundation. The elders of the neighborhood call this place the Ahmed Dede Mosque.
