Dating to the Byzantine period, it was built of stone and brick and measures 13 by 7 m. The cistern is divided into two sections by two rows of single-file rectangular piers. These sections are covered with vaulting. Each of the piers bears a worked impost capital. The springers of the three arches rest on the two rectangular piers and on the side walls. Three niches were made in each of the cistern's two walls. Because it now lies below road level and would pose a hazard, its top has been covered with an iron grille and the surroundings fenced off with wire.
