The pavilion was built towards the end of the 1800s for use in hunting. Its care was entrusted to a chief gunpowder-maker from Beirut named Andon. During the Russian occupation of Istanbul the historic building was used by the Russians as a tavern, and after the Russians left Istanbul, following the Balkan War, it was given to a family of Muslim Turks who had come to our country. The pavilion was first used as a house and later as a coffeehouse.
