Editor's Note
Date of construction: 1210 AH / 1795-1796 AD. Its inscription reads, in a verse eulogy: descendant of the line of the Truthful and scion of Esref-zade, of the lineage of the former grand vizier Pir Pasha, and also of the line of Abdusselam, Seyyid Aziz Bey Efendi of fine character. His ancestor was Mir Abdusselam Efendi; this man became the trustee of his endowment. His ancestor, the said founder, gave drink to the thirsty of all creation. From his fountain, the spring of bounty flows ever, like water, in deeds of charity. With springs of generosity he made the whole world over, turning even bitter water sweet as the waters of the Euphrates...
