It was built in 1930 by the architect Yahya Bey. It opened in 1933 as School No. 4 and later, because of the district it stood in, took the name Yesilkoy Primary School. The school was named after its principal, Mr. Arif Senel, for the beneficial work he had done, and from 1970 it continued its education as Arif Senel Primary School. In 2008 its students were transferred to the nearby Hamdullah Suphi Tanrioever Primary School and the school was closed, while its historic building was allocated to the Justice Vocational High School.
