Editor's Note
It was commissioned by Emperor Justinian. It was built as a transverse rectangle running east-west. Its exterior is constructed entirely of masonry and painted white. The building shows a distinctive layout that does not conform to the plan scheme of traditional Turkish baths. On the east facade there is an open rectangular pool, surrounded on three sides by changing cabins. Although the entrance is on the south facade, the east facade was specially designed because it overlooks the open pool. The undressing section is L-shaped.
