Brought to light by archaeological excavations, the site spans a time range beginning in the Late Roman period (5th–7th centuries AD) and the Early Byzantine period and extending into the Middle and Late Byzantine periods (10th–13th centuries AD). It contains weak dry-laid walls, rows of stones and additions, graves, and water structures. Its final phase of use was the Middle-to-Late Byzantine period.
