Editor's Note
Located at the Kefelikoy locality on Haydar Aliyev Avenue in Sariyer's Cumhuriyet neighborhood, this mansion was built of timber and lath-and-plaster in an Art Nouveau and eclectic style. Its construction date is 1895, while the present building dates from the 1920s. The mansion's first owner was Dikranyan Efendi, who lived during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid. Having changed hands many times, the building lost its shutters in the process, and the square-plan, two-storey structure - with a belvedere balcony on its roof and two skylight windows - was given an eclectic character by the addition of a wooden onion-shaped tower cap. The mansion's entrance door is wooden and recessed.
