Located on Fevzi Pasha Avenue, this early-20th-century structure was a large mansion of masonry below and timber above, unique on the Bosphorus for its five-arched boathouse and its appearance in harmony with the ferry pier. It burned down during the First World War, and the ruined building was sold to the veterinarian Seref Bey; it caught fire again around that time, after which Seref Bey rebuilt it in masonry. In 1970 the waterside residence was leased to house a police station and other government offices, after which it stood derelict for a period.
