Editor's Note
Date of construction: AH 1193 / AD 1779–1780. The gable-roofed fountain is rectangular in form. A spout is set within a round-arched niche. On the marble plaque above the niche is a four-line inscription. It reads: The benefactress and doer of good works, the late and forgiven Safiye Sultan, daughter of Sultan Mustafa Khan II—may Allah forgive her and her parents.
