Editor's Note
Once, when every resident of the village was non-Muslim, Grand Vizier Hezarpare Ahmet Pasha built a palace with extensive gardens here during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim. Mustafa III then built a school, mosque, fountain, and bathhouse and settled a Turkish population around them. Although the Christian population gradually declined, it never disappeared entirely. The Greek Orthodox Church of Agios Konstantinos was built in 1894. The district also has the Ayia Kyriaki sacred spring (ayazma). Source: www.beykoz.bel.tr
