Sirke Hanı, Kastamonu

Sirke Han, near the Sirke Village close to the town of Taşköprü in Kastamonu, on the main caravan route of northern Anatolia, is a basalt-stone structure consisting of two parallel rectangular spaces running north to south. Its roof has not survived, and although it is described as a han (caravanserai), it does not present a complete han plan; given the distance between Kastamonu and Taşköprü and its position relative to the Hanönü Han, it is difficult to regard it as a one-day overnight stop.
