Editor's Note
The Hanönü Han (also known as the Gökçeağaç Han) is a caravanserai of the Anatolian Beyliks period, located in the town of Hanönü within the Taşköprü district of Kastamonu, on the caravan route between Taşköprü and Boyabat. According to its inscription, it was built in 1437 by Tatlu Hatun, the wife of Candaroğlu İsfendiyar Bey. Built of rough-hewn stone on a north–south axis, the building has a plan in which a low-arched entrance on the north façade leads to a fore-space with a hearth, and from there into the main hall of three aisles covered by cross vaults.
