Located at the Arnavutköy locality in the central district of Edirne province, the monument takes its name from the son who commissioned it in honor of his father, who fell as a martyr in the Balkan War. A marble plaque on the east face of the monument reads "From Father to Son," while the plaque on the west face reads: "Erected for Artillery Colonel İzzet (1314-5), who fought as commander of the 5th Company in the 1912–1913 Balkan War, by his son who served in the same place. 30 July 1967, Artillery Lieutenant Colonel Muin Demirus."
