Editor's Note
The redoubt, with a circular plan about 20 m in radius, consists of four rooms, one of which has been lost. All the spaces within the redoubt were reinforced with a thick layer of earth on top. It was built between 1886 and 1888 by İsmail Hakkı Bey and the Fortification Commission. It is one of the 24 redoubts that formed Edirne's line of defense and encircled the city.
