It consists of barracks and artillery rooms. The redoubt has a generally natural plan layout, with gun emplacements placed between the barracks and artillery rooms. It was built between 1886 and 1888 by İsmail Hakkı Bey and the Fortification Commission. It is one of the 24 redoubts that formed Edirne's line of defense and encircled the city.
