On the bastion within the grounds of the open prison, there are two rooms set facing each other on the south side of a circular-plan courtyard. It was built by İsmail Hakkı Bey and the Fortification Commission between 1886 and 1888. It is one of the 24 bastions that formed Edirne's defensive line and encircled the city.
