The masjid was commissioned during the reign of Murad II by Mevlana Veliyüddin and was converted into a mosque by Abdülbaki Efendi in AH 1228 (AD 1823). It had a single minaret, a wooden roof, and a tiled covering. The mosque collapsed in 1920.
