It is located on Kizil Mescit Street within the boundaries of the Yildirim Beyazit neighborhood in the central district of Edirne province. The building, commissioned by Sinan Bey, had a wooden roof and a single minaret. It fell into ruin and was reduced to an empty plot during the Russian occupation of 1293 AH (1877 CE). By decision no. 60, dated 15 September 1938, of the Directorate of Foundations, the mosque plot was sold for 296 lira to the merchant Irfan Saglam. In the period that followed, the mosque, whose foundations were still standing, was rebuilt with the support of the local people. The mosque's minaret was built in 1960 by Osman Esen of Luleburgaz.
