It is located within the boundaries of the central district of Edirne province. Judging from the date of 1658 on the gravestone of Abdurrahman Hibri Efendi within the cemetery, it appears to have been in continuous use from the early periods of the Ottoman State to the present day. It is reported that the Ottoman-period gravestones have been damaged and toppled, and that the cemetery area has expanded as new burials were made in the Republican period.
