It consists of four sections in total: the entrance section, the barracks, the artillery rooms, and the ambush room. It was built between 1886 and 1888 by Ismail Hakki Bey and the Fortification Commission. It is one of the 24 redoubts that formed Edirne's defensive line and encircled the city.
