Visiting Eriklice Village on 6 November 1913, Bogdan Filov noted that the church in front of the village school had collapsed but that its altar apse still survived, and stated that it had been preserved because it stood within the school courtyard. A surface survey conducted by Barış Toptaş in the disused schoolyard of Eriklice Village uncovered the foundation remains of a large structure right in front of the school, which is no longer in use owing to bussed schooling; however, village residents stated that these belonged to the old school building and its lodging.
