Various sources describe the Church of Aya İlya as the church where the non-Muslim population of central Kırklareli worshipped during a period when church-building was banned and there was no church in the town centre. However, a surface survey carried out by Barış Toptaş in Eriklice Village found no trace of any remains. Since no plan, photograph or other document relating to the church could be obtained, no information about its general features is available either.
