With permission obtained in 1912, it was built that same year by Doctor Hacı Yanaki on six dönüms of land belonging to his son Kostaki, on İstasyon Avenue in the Karakaş neighbourhood, on the site of today's Officers' Club, to be used as a flour and ice factory. In the three-storey, gable-roofed, tile-covered building, the ten narrow, tall, segmental-arched windows above the entrance door on the ground floor of the front façade are repeated on the second and third storeys. The horizontal mouldings between the floors make the storey divisions distinct.
