Editor's Note
It was built in 1888 by Sultan Abdülhamid II in the name of his daughter Naime Sultan. Later, after a new mosque was built nearby, it fell out of use, and after lying in ruins for many years it was restored by the Arnavutköy Municipality in 1996 and reopened for worship. It has a wooden roof. It is said that Sultan Abdülhamid II sent to this mosque a relic of the Prophet's beard (Sakal-ı Şerif), an honor reserved only for imperial Selatin mosques, and that this relic was kept here until the early 1990s. The building still preserves its original Ottoman inscription dated 1888.
