The Şamlar Dam, located on the Şamlar Stream, one of the largest tributaries of the Sazlıdere, was built between 1826 and 1828 during the reign of Mahmud II. The Şamlar Dam is 10.14 m high, 12.22 m wide at the crest and 15.58 m wide at the base.
