Editor's Note
The Kestanealan Bridge is a single-eyed, two-centred, pointed-arch stone bridge set on rocky ground, located southwest of the Arhavi district of Artvin, on the Sirtoba road, near the villages of Derecik and Kestanealan. Built using infill-wall technique, with mostly dark basalt in the arch and piers and tuff stone in the spandrel walls, the structure is notable for its 18.24-metre deck length and 12.64-metre arch span. The parapets have largely survived intact, though a concrete coping was later added on top of them.
