Editor's Note

Location: It is in Merdivenle Village, recorded under its former name Melyat, in Rize's Pazar district. History: The only inscription on the mosque is the one above the minbar door, which bears the date 1287/1870. Its inscription reads: "In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate, 1287/1870. There is no god but God; Muhammad is the Messenger of God. May the Creator grant intercession on the Day of Judgment. Muhammad. Owner of the minbar." Apart from the minbar inscription, publications on the mosque suggest it may have been built in 1800.
