Editor's Note
The Çakmak Line is a defensive line built by Turkey, first on the Kırklareli–Edirne line and later at Çatalca, to deter and counter any German attack on the Eastern Thrace border in anticipation of World War II. It stretched from the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea.
