Built as a church in the 960s, the building was converted into a mosque in 1279 after the region came under Turkish rule. Located in the Kornapa Village area on the Taşköprü–Hanönü highway, the mosque was restored in 2014 by the regional directorate of foundations, giving it its present appearance. The Kornapa Village Mosque, in the Taşköprü district of Kastamonu, stands in Kornopa Village on the Taşköprü-Sinop road, just beside the D30 highway. It is a 19th-century building with wooden posts.
