It lies within the boundaries of the Kale neighborhood in the Vize district of Kırklareli province. Built beside the Tabakhane Stream that flows down from the Asmakaya locality, the structure and the protective tower just above it were begun in the late 12th century during the Komnenos era and completed in the Palaiologos period. The tower was built with rubble masonry set between two facing walls. Its lower section has a vaulted cellar and today is entirely covered by stunted trees. The wooden beam sockets just above clearly show that it once had several storeys.
