In the old cemetery in the district centre, next to the bus station, there are numerous gravestones with Ottoman Turkish inscriptions in turban, cylindrical, floral-motif, plain, six-sided, eight-sided and ten-sided forms, as well as uninscribed menhir-shaped markers. The earliest legible gravestone is dated AH 1122 and the latest legible one AH 1283. The old cemetery spreads over a wide area. Some of the gravestones are intact, while others have been damaged, broken, toppled or uprooted from their places.
