It lies within the boundaries of the town of Alpullu, in the Babaeski district of Kırklareli province. It was built within the grounds of the Alpullu Sugar Factory — whose foundation was laid on 22 December 1925 and which began operating on 26 November 1926 — for the factory's first director, the German Herman Gutherz. [1] A 14 January 1934 article in the Milliyet newspaper, however, states that the Ergene Pavilion was built as the company's "Board of Directors Building." [2] Set within the factory complex, the Ergene Pavilion consists of a basement and a ground floor and was built using masonry construction. In 1930 Atatürk visited the factory and stayed in this building.
