While Lala Şahin captured Ferecik to secure the rear of the Ottoman forces, Murad I turned eastward, besieged and took İnceğiz, and from there seized Çatalburgaz (Çatalca) and two fortresses near Küçükçekmece (the two were retaken by the Crusaders in May 1367 and returned to the Eastern Roman Empire).
